A group of university facilitators who staged a fake fight in front of new students to celebrate a colleague's birthday have come under fire on social media, being called "syok sendiri."
In a TikTok post by zeeyysss, a video went viral showing a chaotic scene during orientation at a public university in Segamat, where several facilitators appeared to be arguing, though the cause was unknown.
One of the facilitators claimed that they had to give up their day off to assist with the orientation session, a situation which caused the fight in public.
To heighten the tense atmosphere amid the chaos, several facilitators even scolded the new students for speaking up during the fake fight.
Many of the students appeared anxious or startled by the altercation.
It was quickly discovered, though, that the entire event was a ploy to celebrate a fellow facilitator's birthday.
When the facilitators started singing "Happy Birthday," some of the kids were audibly complaining about the situation.
Netizens were quick to criticise the facilitators in the comment section, labelling them as self-centred for celebrating a birthday in front of the new pupils.
