Police are investigating the tragic death of a 49-year-old Chinese national who was fatally stabbed at a restaurant in a shopping mall in Cheras yesterday.
Cheras police chief Aidil Bolhassan reported that the victim, who worked as a cashier at the establishment, suffered four to five stab wounds in the attack.
"We have detained seven suspects, all of whom are colleagues of the victim at the restaurant," Aidil confirmed in a brief message to the media.
Authorities are currently searching for witnesses and exploring all potential leads to determine the motive behind the murder.
"The murder weapon has not yet been recovered," Aidil added.
The victim succumbed to injuries while being transported in an ambulance to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz.
Investigations are ongoing as police work to uncover the circumstances leading to this tragic incident.
