Meet Veekhash Logendran, a young prodigy whose talent and determination have earned him a spot as the youngest finalist in the Asia Talent Search 2024.
Veekhash first caught the publics attention in 2023 when he entered the Malaysia Book of Records for identifying 40 car logos in under a minute. Now, just a year later, he has pushed his boundaries even further by competing against participants of all ages in a highly competitive talent search spanning multiple countries.
Auditioning in May 2024, Veekhash made history in December by becoming the youngest-ever finalist at the prestigious competition held at the Temple of Fine Arts in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. Among 13 finalists who showcased diverse skills from singing to magic tricks, this young boy stood out for his exceptional knowledge and stage presence.
According to FMT Lifestyle, his mother, Rubini Ramasamy, shared that the journey to the finals was unexpected but rewarding. "We simply wanted Veekhash to explore his potential and discover his talents. We never imagined he would reach this level its an incredible achievement for us."
Rubini, who admitted to having a fear of public speaking, was determined to ensure her son didn't inherit the same apprehension. She enrolled him in Asia Talent Search as an opportunity to build his confidence. "It's not about winning or losing, but about the experience he gained along the way," she emphasized.
While Veekhash had already proven his remarkable memory skills identifying over 100 car logos last year he took his abilities to new heights in the competition. In Round 1, he wowed judges by naming more than 200 car logos along with their respective countries of origin.
But the competition required more than just memory skills. In Round 2, Veekhash stepped into the role of a scientist, delivering an engaging presentation on the first 20 elements of the periodic table and their classifications. His dedication paid off he can now confidently recite all 118 elements, a feat that secured him a spot in the finale.
To prepare, Veekhash attended speech and drama classes twice a week, a commitment that required long trips from Rawang to Kota Kemuning. His parents fully funded the training, balancing their work schedules to ensure he had every opportunity to succeed. "We made these sacrifices for him, but they are nothing compared to his achievements and the pride he has brought us," said Rubini.
In the Grand Finale, Veekhash took on the title of the "Little Curious Explorer," sharing unique facts about Malaysia using props to highlight the country's rich heritage. Although he didn't claim the top prize, his family couldn't be prouder of his accomplishments.
Today, Veekhash continues to sharpen his skills, always eager to learn something new. His latest passion? Identifying countries by their national emblems. With such an insatiable thirst for knowledge, its only a matter of time before we hear even bigger news from this young genius.
For Veekhash, the journey has only just begun, and the world is surely watching what he will achieve next.
