Michelle Yeoh of Malaysia is making news yet again. This time for being named to TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2022.
The 59-year-old actress was named to the respected American news magazine's yearly list for repeatedly achieving "the impossible."
Here's the statement about Michelle Yeoh by Kevin Kwan taken from the TIME website:
"Without vanity, without fuss, Michelle Yeoh astonishes us with her honesty, humour, and grace, and we realise we will never get enough of her achieving the impossible."
He also mentions how she managed to become the queen of Hong Kong's male-dominated action cinema. She even subverted the stereotypes in a Bond movie and broke into the global consciousness with an Oscar-winning kung fu epic. Besides that, she also lead the first Hollywood film with an all-Asian cast in 25 years to become the highest-grossing romantic comedy in over a decade.
All of the above were things that some would think is impossible to do but Malaysia's very own Michelle Yeoh managed to do it and we can't be prouder that she is listed in TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2022 because she deserves it!
Michelle Yeoh is an inspiration to all Malaysians. She shows us time and time again that even when something might seem impossible, trying hard enough will make it possible.
Congratulations, Michelle Yeoh!
