Better safe than sorry!
A restaurant in Cyberjaya has fallen victim to a scam, whereby its modus operandi involved using hypnosis to steal money.
In a CCTV recording shown on TikTok, the owner of Restoran Zam Ikan Bakar shared that their cashier was approached by a woman posing as diner.
The perpetrator first pretended to ask about changing money as a distraction attempt, to which the cashier obliged.
The tactic was clearly successful as the former managed to walk away with several cash notes. It was only until then that the cashier had suddenly realised the ruse.
Enraged by the brazen act, viewers advised the premise to take extra precautions, including reciting prayers and forbidding people from changing money without dining in the first place.
