A Man From Terengganu Jailed For Eight Years After Stealing RM70

An unemployed man from Terengganu has been sentenced to eight years in prison and given two whipping strokes by the Sessions Court here on Tuesday for robbing RM70 from a senior citizen, causing injuries to the victim, back in April.

Budiyono Udin, 35, from Kampung Binjai Bongkok, Bukit Payong, Marang pleaded guilty to the charges of 
robbery and intentionally causing injury to the victim, Ngah Taib, 79, as well as taking RM70 cash belonging to the victim.

On the day of the incident at about 9:30 AM on April 24th, the accused came to the victim's house yard and demanded money, and proceeded to snatch some cash from the victim's left shirt pocket.

Then, the accused took the floorboard that was on the drain on the sidewalk of the victim's house before hitting the victim on the left shoulder, causing him to fall. He even attempted to take the machete the victim was holding but failed.


The victim then quickly rushed to the nearest police station to lodge a report.
