In a heartfelt moment of nostalgia, Muhammad Sajjad Kamaruz Zaman, better known as Sajat, broke down in tears after successfully preparing a traditional Malay dessert called "lepat pisang." This emotional episode unfolded as they shared their longing for their mother's cooking, a treasured memory that resonates deeply with many Malaysians.

In a video posted on TikTok, Sajat revealed the profound sense of homesickness they had experienced since leaving their home state and family. They expressed how much they missed their family's cuisine, especially the treats lovingly prepared by their mother.

"Only those who understand can truly relate. Sometimes, the dishes we crave are not available here. You can't imagine how much I miss eating those dishes," Sajat said in their heartfelt video. "I'm shedding tears because I miss the cooking of the people I love. This is why I am like this, living alone here without anyone around. My siblings are far away."

Their tears flowed as they successfully made "lepat pisang," a traditional banana dessert that their mother used to make. Sajat cherished these memories and felt their absence deeply.

"When I could make this dessert (lepat pisang), I cried because my mother was the one who always made these kinds of snacks. For those of you who still have your mother, take good care of her. If you're far away like me, only the phone remains," they shared on TikTok.

Simultaneously, Sajat expressed gratitude to netizens who generously shared the recipe for "lepat pisang," which enabled them to recreate this beloved dish.

"Alhamdulillah, it turned out well (the banana lepat). Thank you all for teaching me," they added.

Following this heartfelt post, numerous netizens expressed their concern and urged Sajat to reunite with their family in Malaysia.

"Please, let Sajat return to Malaysia and see their family for a while. I swear, it's unbearable to see how much they miss what they have in Malaysia," commented @N.

Another user, @Mata syanteqs, sympathized with Sajat, saying, "Poor Sajat, they must miss their family terribly."

Sajat's emotional journey touched the hearts of many, reminding us all of the profound significance of family and the comforting embrace of home-cooked meals.
