Taiwanese singer Ella Chen of SHE returned to Melaka with her husband, Malaysian businessman Alvin Lai, to celebrate Chinese New Year, and she loved it!
Sharing her experience on her Instagram stories, the 43-year-old revealed that her first stop after arriving was to savor Melaka's famous delicacies.
Among them, she highlighted cendol as a must-have festive treat, believing it symbolizes prosperity.
"During the New Year, you must eat cendol because it will bring more money", she said in a video, noting that its name sounds like 'abundance of wealth'.
She also enjoyed other traditional treats, including ondeh-ondeh, calling them delicious, though she admitted forgetting the names of some pastries.
Her CNY celebration continued with fireworks outside her family home, capturing a playful moment of lighting them up before dashing indoors to watch them go off.
"I've been celebrating the New Year for several days now!" she wrote.
Her trip also included a visit to Jonker Street, where she soaked in the lively festive atmosphere, sharing pics of red lanterns and CNY deco.
"Melaka truly has a rich and festive atmosphere!" she captioned.
