Podcasts have recently risen to fame. Whether its because people have become bored of movies or if podcasts help them feel less lonely, we definitely love the podcast trend.
While there are many genres of podcasts like motivational, informative and even funny, our personal favourite is the horror podcasts.
What better day to start listening to creepy, spine-chilling podcasts, than Friday the 13th of the Ghost Month?
Here are some of our favourites that will definitely spook you out tonight:
1. CreepsMcPasta Creepypasta Radio
CreepsMcPasta’s channel mostly focuses on the subject of horror, most of which contains creepypastas and stories from the deep web, as well as feels-pastas and many others. This on is really creepy too because of all the sound effects that play in the background. They make the whole podcast extra spooky.
2. Dr. NoSleep
This channel started when members of the r/nosleep subreddit decided to start turning some of its creepy stories into audio recordings. They have quite a lot of audios since they have been available since 2011. They also add in sound effects like gasps and footsteps in the background that will make you feel super unsafe to be alone while listening to the podcast.
3. The Magnus Archives
This is a weekly horror fiction podcats that examines the archives of the Magnus Institute, an organization that is dedicated to researching the esoteric and the weird. The voices of the readers and the minimalistic production give the stories an eerie feel that honestly give you goosebumps for days.
4. Archive 81
Archive 81 is a found footage horror podcast about ritual, stories, and sound. If you go to their Spotify, you will have to start from episode 1 to properly follow the story. It is so good that Netflix is turning it into a series!
5. Nightlight
Nightlight will not only turn on you lights at night but also support Black writers. It highlights Black authors telling Black stories, and in doing so the show is releasing some of the very best horror stories out there. Some of their stories are related to romance, sci-fi, and some are more standard horror fare, but each story is haunting and unforgettable.
6. Campfire Radio Theater
The best thing about this podcast is their amazingly chilling audio engineering and editing that make you feel like you’re right in the room while all these terrifying things are happening. Fans of horror who love stories that quicken your pace and gives you jump scares will definitely love this podcast.
