Like as if dealing with Covid-19 and everything it has destroyed in its wake isn't enough, now there are rumours about something called Covid-22.
Based on an article by a German newspaper a few days back, a professor decided to tell the world that a new variant of Covid-19 would be coming in the year 2022, and would be much stronger as well as deadlier, than the current Delta.
He said it would pose a big risk to many, and would be something the world would need to prepare for, in terms of tweaking current vaccines, as well as increasing booster shots, to survive.
Since then, netizens on Twitter have come up with rather varied reactions, mostly disbelief and hopelessness, to the whole ordeal.

An article by Health though, stated that Covid-22 is most likely untrue, because the name Covid-19 in itself, was created as an abbreviation for 'Coronavirus Disease founded in the year 2019'.
The article also noted that should another variant come about, it would likely be called something else based on the Greek alphabet, and not an entirely new flu strain.
Since then, there has been ample of speculation, panic and numerous viewpoints in the community about the realness of Covid-22, but yet no concrete facts.
Is there truly a possibility of a Covid-22? We don't know, and only time will tell. But in the meantime, maybe we don't go jumping the gun. Read more on Covid-22 here and here.
