As the town that's famously known for its array of good food, Ipoh has been on every foodie lover's top 5 list of places to visit in Malaysia— by locals and international tourists alike. After all, who can't resist their world-famous Nasi Ganja?
# Malaysians' Love For Ipoh
To commemorate our love for the city of Nasi Vanggey, OLDTOWN White Coffee has run a contest in conjunction with our nation's Independence Day a few weeks ago. The contest urged Malaysians to share their fondest memories of Ipoh, and wow, the entries made us realize just how well-loved this city is!
# The Video
Watch how the streets of Ipoh are immortalized in miniature arts— it's almost as if someone shrank Ipoh and made it pocket-sized!
# Take A Look At The Winners!
We have gotten over 500 stories that were shared by Malaysians about how much they appreciate Ipoh and its cultures as well as what the city means to them and we read through the stories with little tears in our eyes. They all carried so much beauty and nostalgia ! Take a look at all our winners:
# Ipoh Forever In Our Hearts
Founded in Ipoh, it only makes sense that OLDTOWN White Coffee would curate a contest revolving around the city and all its glory. This particular contest was held in collaboration with Malaysia's miniature artist, @picoworm who was inspired by the lively vibrance of Ipoh's streets. Now all the winners own a little piece of Ipoh to remember it by!
Last but not least, a big thank you to OLDTOWN White Coffee for shining a spotlight on Ipoh and reintroducing our love for good food and cultures that can only be found right here in Malaysia <3
