Beginning on Sunday (April 2), operations at six Light Rail Transit (LRT) stations on the Ampang-Sri Petaling line will be discontinued. These stations include Bandaraya, Sultan Ismail, PWTC, Titiwangsa, Sentul, and Sentul Timur.
According to Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, this is due to the trains used for services between Bandaraya and Sentul Timur stations do not meet with the operational standards and thus, must be suspended for public safety.
This was caused by the damage near the Bandaraya LRT station that is causing trains not to be able to return to Ampang LRT Depot for maintenance work.
Alternatively, public transport riders can hop onto LRT 11, LRT 13 and LRT 14 express bus services from Sunday onwards as an alternative to the LRT. Rapid Rail also claims that all bus services will be using the special bus lanes provided to facilitate the journey.
Also, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd will be terminating the LRT 9 and LRT 10 bus services starting from April 2.
