A shocking incident has unfolded in Thailand, where a Chinese female influencer with millions of followers was drugged at a bar in Bangkok and woke up the next day in the KK Park area, where she was subjected to sexual assault and held against her will.
Another case involves a Taiwanese tourist who was also drugged during his 5-day stay in Bangkok. The global anti-scam organization is urging travellers to prioritize their safety when visiting Thailand to avoid any unfortunate incidents.
According to a public statement released by the Global Anti-Scam Organization (GASO) on Tuesday, two cases of abduction in Thailand have been reported. The first involves a Chinese female influencer with a massive following who was drugged at a well-known bar in Bangkok.
When she woke up the next day, she found herself in the KK Park area. By the time the global anti-scam organization received the report, the woman had already been sexually assaulted and confined against her will.
In the second case, a Taiwanese tourist who had been staying in Bangkok for five days was similarly drugged and woke up to find himself in the streets of Myanmar. The perpetrators demanded a ransom of $50,000 (approximately RM230,000) from him, threatening to involve him in their fraudulent activities if he refused.
Refusing to engage in scams, the Taiwanese tourist attempted to escape by jumping from the fourth floor but unfortunately ended up paralyzed. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Myanmar.
The global anti-scam organization is urging travellers to exercise caution and prioritize their safety when visiting Thailand to avoid any regrettable incidents.
