Malaysians‘ frustration and disappointment towards their government can no longer be contained, as shown by the hashtag #KerajaaBangsat, which sits a tad bit higher in the Malay insult hierarchy than the previous trending hashtag, #KerajaanGagal.

It is currently trending on Twitter as tons of Malaysians are utterly infuriated at the stagnant progress of Covid-19 infection rates in the country, despite having imposed a total national lockdown almost two months ago.

Suicide cases are on the rise due to the lockdown, Malaysians are growing more desperate just to survive; jobless man locked his entire family in his house without food out of desperation, woman tried jumping off her building after losing her jobthese are only a tiny glimpse of the unimaginably vast reality they are currently going through.

Will Malaysia come out of this pandemic alive?
