M’sian Man Fined RM7K For Keeping More Than A Hundred P*rn Content In His Smartphone

A restaurant assistant in Kuala Lumpur has been fined a whopping RM700 by the Magistrates' court after pleading guilty to have been in the possession of p*rnographic pictures and videos in his mobile phone.

49-year-old R. Pravin Menon. allegedly possessed 53 pornographic contents in a memory card and 61 similar contents in a Vivo branded smartphone. For the offense, The court had imposed a fine of RM3,500 for the charge of possessing 53 obscene contents in a memory card unit and the exact same amount for the charge of possessing 61 obscene contents in his smartphone.

Pravin, who was not presented by a lawyer, appealed for a more lenient sentence as this was his first offense and had expressed regret over it.   However, the Deputy Public Prosecutor from the Communications and Multimedia Commission, Fazril Sani Mohamed Fadzil, decided on an RM7000 fine to be served as a lesson.
