Adeline's name has become synonymous with scams as she continues to dodge payments across various services, often portraying herself as a victim. This latest incident involving e-hailing fare evasion is just one of many instances, though the exact frequency remains unknown.
Despite previous viral stories about her, a recent revelation from another e-hailing driver sheds light on yet another attempt by Adeline to avoid payment. The driver shared the incident on a Facebook group, detailing how he picked up Adeline from Magicboo Kota Damansara at 3 a.m. and charged her RM14 for the ride.
However, upon arriving at her destination, she claimed she didn't have the money to pay him and offered only to pay RM5 via Touch n Go e-wallet. As he waited patiently while she purportedly tried to arrange payment with a friend, the driver, Yusof, was ultimately left unpaid. Adeline then left the car, promising to transfer the payment the next day.
Yusof reported the incident through the app of the e-hailing platform, which led to the cancellation of her booking. However, she accused Yusof of cancelling the service and threatened to exploit this claim to allege his failure to fulfil his service.
To warn other drivers, Yusof shared a video in the comments section, showing Adeline insisting on leaving without payment and asking him to wait outside while she retrieved the money. Yusof then suggested she leave her bag in the car to prevent absconding, but she refused and exited the vehicle. Additionally, Yusof provided screenshots of his conversation with Adeline, informing her that he would involve the authorities if the payment were not made within 24 hours.
In response, Adeline threatened to report Yusof, citing his booking cancellation as evidence of attempted fraud.
Unaware of Adeline's identity and modus operandi initially, Yusof's post went viral, prompting netizens to inform him of her reputation for evading payment. Subsequently, Yusof filed a police report against her.
