India definitely has the most hilarious and unusual ways of punishment toward those who flout their national lockdown rules.
It is reported that 10 tourists, from Israel, Mexico, Australia, and Austria, were each forced to write “I did not follow the rules of lockdown so I am so sorry” for 500 times after they were caught taking a walk in Rishikesh during the lockdown.

Apart from writing “I am sorry”, the police in India have also come up with many other unusual — or I’d say, creative — methods to encourage people to stay home since their nationwide lockdown was imposed near the end of March. This includes wearing coronavirus-shaped helmets and making flouters do squats and leapfrogs as punishment.
