A heavy storm swept Pasir Pinji in Ipoh yesterday (Apr 16) afternoon and destroyed 80 houses along with 30 shoplots. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Apart from houses, the storm also damaged some lampposts, but the authority is still assessing the damage, according to Pasir Pinji assemblyman Howard Lee, reported The Star.

Lee also said that about 5 families were affected by the storm, and temporary shelter has been set up for the families whose houses were seriously damaged.
The area is being cleaned up now by the Ipoh City Council, the voluntary fire brigade and residents. Let’s pray that the lives of the victims can go back to normal as soon as possible.
