Coming home to a closet brimming with unorganized clothes definitely won't set you off in a good mood. You'd have trouble finding things, digging even deeper into your closet which eventually messes up the closet even more! No matter how big or small your closet is, it's now time to start purging and re-editing your unwanted stuff for a more streamlined closet. And I've got just the trick!
1. Round them all up. And by all, I mean everything!
This process is the tedious of them all, because you have to take out everything from your closet and pile them in one place. This way, you'd get a better visual of how you're going to sort your clothes and other stuff in the next step.
2. Sort your stuff into categories
For this part, you need to now categorize your stuff into separate piles.
A. Clothes you're still wearing- one pile
B. Unwanted clothes not worth donating or selling- one pile
C. Clothes that are still in pristine conditions but you rarely wear- one pile (either donate or sell)
3. Create a 'rolls only' section in your closet
You don't have to hang all your clothes. If your closet is small, identify the clothes or stuff that can be rolled or folded to save space. If you have that extra time and energy, you can arrange them into color codes or prints for easy access.
4. Rearrange your main clothes wisely
Jackets, sweaters, blouses, work attire; these are some of the main components that need to be arranged neatly in the bigger compartments of your closet. Not only does this looks pleasing to the eyes, you can even access your clothes easily without rummaging anything.
