A Malaysian gynecologist at medical supplies firm Twin Catalyst, John Tang Ing Chinh has successfully created what he claims is the world's first unisex condom made from a medical-grade material.
Named Wondaleaf Unisex Condom, it was created in the hopes of empowering people to take better control of their sexual health regardless of their sexual orientation. “It's basically a regular condom with an adhesive covering,” explained John. "It attaches to the vagina or penis, as well as covering the adjacent area for extra protection,".
The adhesive is only applied to one side of the condom, meaning it can be reversed and used by either sex.
The unisex condom is made up of polyurethane, a thin, flexible and waterproof material typically used in transparent wound dressings.
Each box of Wondaleaf Unisex Condom will likely be sold at RM 14.99, which is far more affordable than any standard condom price in the market, which usually reaches RM 20 to RM 40.
