A video surfaced on Twitter (X) that stirred discussions as it captured the perilous moment when a motorcyclist in Malaysia was involved in an accident while simultaneously recording a selfie video during the ride. The incident has left viewers deeply disturbed.
According to a report, the deceased was 21-year-old Mohammad Sharfie Sukri, who was riding towards Kuantan to participate in the RXZ Motorcycle Gathering (RXZ Fighter Gathering) when the tragedy occurred.
In the video, the rider can be seen on the left side of the road, casually using his phone to document his journey. The estimated speed does not appear to be excessive. However, after approximately 30 seconds of recording, a lorry from the right abruptly switched lanes to the left, colliding with the rider, sending him flying. The phone used for recording also fell to the ground.
Despite prompt medical assistance, the paramedics were unable to save the rider's life.
Mohamad Zamri Mohamad Zaber, the Chief of the Maran District Police, later revealed that the deceased was a sales assistant from Sabah, accompanied by 10 friends on their way to Kuantan for the event.
This incident marks the second accident on this stretch of road, with both fatalities occurring while riders were en route to the RXZ Motorcycle Gathering.
