Imagine paying for sushi that costs HK$10,000 (approx. RM5,367.14), thanks to naughty netizens!

That was what a customer at Genki Sushi in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong had to go through after innocently sharing a post with the order QR code.

What he didn't know was that netizens will soon scan the label & order way-too-many dishes that end up on his tab.

Here's what went down! On Saturday (October 2), the customer, by the surname Choi, shared his dinner update in the Facebook group, Hong Kong Sushi Sashimi Concern Group

The post held a picture of his receipt- and plates of sushi-, as he captioned it "Eating at Genki again today." He was probably unaware that the QR code used for ordering online was on display too.

Under just 9 minutes, netizens began to order over 100 dishes- including fatty tuna, soft shell crab & 21 plates of eel rice- the priciest dish on the menu.

Some of the dishes were even sold out on the online system! The total bill came up to a shocking HK$10,090 (approx. RM 5415.45), including service charge.

When contacted, Genki Sushi clarified that the restaurant did not charge the man for items ordered by the netizens. Thank god for him!

And, a big lesson learnt for all of us. Please be mindful of what you share online!
