A recent incident at a tudung store in Alor Setar, Kedah, has shocked netizens after a video on TikTok went viral.
The CCTV footage shows a customer using a hypnotic technique to steal money from the cash register, leaving the employee with a loss of RM 180. The video was posted by a user with the handle @AmyHer.veils and has gained widespread attention online.
According to the video, the 'customer' started by selecting a tudung priced at RM 20 as soon as she entered the store. She then used RM 100 to purchase the item and received a change of RM 80 from the employee. suddenly changed her mind and asked for a refund of RM 100.
As soon as the employee handed over the money, the customer quickly hid the cash in her shirt and pretended to look at other tudungs.
She then suddenly changed her mind again and asked for the RM 80 balance earlier, claiming she wanted to repurchase the tudung. After retrieving the money, the customer pretended to walk around the store and asked the employee various questions to distract her, eventually leaving the store with a total of RM 180.
The employee reported feeling dizzy and disoriented during the interaction and only realized what had happened after the customer left. Many netizens have condemned the thief's actions and expressed sympathy for the employee who fell victim to the hypnotic technique.
