In a heartbreaking incident, a family dispute over noise levels turned fatal when a 55-year-old man was stabbed to death by his 27-year-old cousin in Kuching, Sarawak. The tragedy unfolded on the evening of May 3, when a simple request for quiet ended in violence.

The confrontation began when the victim asked his cousin to reduce the noise he was making. What started as a plea for peace quickly escalated into a physical struggle. In the heat of the moment, the younger man grabbed a pair of scissors and fatally stabbed his older relative in the chest.

According to Kosmo!, the Padawan District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md. Radzi confirmed that a distressing report was received around 8:30 PM. Responding swiftly, officers from the District Criminal Investigation Division and the Special Investigation Division (D9) of the Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department were dispatched to the scene at Jalan Haji Baki.

Upon their arrival, officers found the victim lying on the ground with severe injuries. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, marking a tragic end to what should have been a peaceful evening.

Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz provided further details, noting that the incident was triggered by the victim's request for the suspect to lower his noise level. This seemingly minor dispute quickly spiraled out of control, culminating in the tragic stabbing.

Law enforcement acted swiftly, apprehending the suspect near the scene of the crime. He has been remanded until June 10 as investigations continue under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which addresses the charge of murder.
