A family vacation in Kota Bahru turned into a nightmare when a woman discovered a phone hidden in the bathroom window, seemingly used to spy on her while she was showering. The woman, who goes by the username @nfwhda on TikTok, shared her terrifying experience in a viral video that has since sparked concern about privacy and safety in rental accommodations.
After an exhausting 18-hour drive, @nfwhda and her family arrived at a homestay in Kota Bahru. Initially, everything seemed normal. However, things took a dark turn when she entered the bathroom to shower. As she prepared to bathe, she noticed something unusual in the window, which had been covered with newspaper.
"I saw the phone camera someone was taking pictures of me while I was in the bathroom," she recalled in her video, that her voice was filled with fear and anger. Terrified, she screamed for her mother, trembling as she processed what was happening.
The family immediately confronted the homestay owner, who was reportedly shocked and denied any involvement. Despite the denial, they examined his phone and noticed it had the same camera design as the one seen in the bathroom window. Unfortunately, no solid evidence could be found, as any potential photos may have been deleted.
The woman emphasized that her intention was not to damage the owner's business but to raise awareness and prevent such incidents from happening to others. She described the owner as unstable, mentioning that he repeatedly called her brother following the confrontation. She advised others to exercise caution when selecting homestays or vacation rentals, especially in unfamiliar places.
The incident has since gone viral, with many viewers expressing their outrage and urging stricter regulations to ensure the safety and privacy of guests in homestays.
