A 67-year-old man was discovered dead with multiple stab wounds at his home in Taman Bahagia, Jalan Murni, Senai. The tragic incident came to light on Saturday (Nov 30) following a phone call made to the police at 11.42am.
Kulai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Seng Lee confirmed the case in a statement on Sunday (Dec 1). "We were alerted to a case where an elderly man was found lying in a pool of blood inside the living room of his residence," he said.
According to TheStar, upon arriving at the scene, the authorities identified the victim as a local man who had been living alone. Preliminary investigations suggest the injuries were caused by a sharp object, indicating foul play.
The case has been classified as murder, and an investigation has been launched under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
ACP Tan urged anyone with relevant information to assist in the investigation. Members of the public are encouraged to contact the Kulai District Police Headquarters at 07-6632222.
The authorities are working to uncover the motive behind the incident and bring the perpetrator to justice.
