Have you heard about China's latest AI, DeepSeek? Apparently it's gotten quite famous and it may just be giving Open AI (ChatGPT) a run for its money.

We are simplifying the pros and cons of both the programs, so let's take a look!

DeepSeek

Pros

- Free & open-source:  Anyone can use and modify it

- Cheaper to make:  Cost much less to develop than ChatGPT

- Smart reasoning:  Can think and answer in a way that competes with OpenAI's models

- Works with less powerful chips:  Doesn't need the most advanced AI chips, making it easier to build

Cons

- Not as well known:  Still new and not widely used

- Less support:  Doesn't have as many tools and apps connected to it

- Unproven reliability:  We don't know yet how well it will perform over time

ChatGPT (OpenAI)

Pros

- Well established:  Millions of people and companies use it

- More advanced:  One of the smartest AI chatbots available

- Better infrastructure:  Backed by Microsoft, so it runs smoothly and can handle big tasks

- Understands language well:  More polished and accurate responses

Cons

- Expensive:  Costs a lot to train and use

- Not open-source:  You cant freely modify or study its code

- Needs high-end chips:  Depends on powerful AI chips that are now restricted in some countries

Got us thinking for sure!
