Malaysian magician and entertainer Vain Liew (@thevainliew) has once again shown that magic doesn't always need elaborate props or special effects, it just needs a good sense of humour and a red apple.

In a lighthearted video posted on his Instagram, Liew brought some unexpected fun to convenience stores around town by performing a clever wordplay prank involving an edible apple and a payment terminal. As he approached the counter with his purchase, he casually asked the cashier if they accepted ApplePay. Then came the twist: instead of using a phone, he tapped an actual red apple on the card readerand to everyone's surprise, the transaction went through.

The trick left cashiers visibly confused. One even asked, "How did you pay?" to which Liew cheekily responded, "ApplePay," while biting into the fruit to prove it was indeed real. The playful stunt had staff laughing, with a few even calling him "weird" in the most amused way possible.

Online, the video quickly gained traction, with netizens applauding Liew's witty performance. Many praised the harmless prank for bringing some joy to the daily grind. One commenter said, "This is the kind of wholesome content we need more of on the internet," while another quipped, "So if Ali uses Alipay, does he need to carry an Ali too?"

It's clear that Vain Liew's blend of magic and mischief continues to charm audiences both in person and online, one pun at a time.
