Have you been hoarding candles in your drawers? I get it, those are your babies! So, learn how to make them last longer with these 4 tricks for you.
Trim the wick

Before lighting up your candle for the second time, trim the wick around 5-10 mm.
If you don't, the extra bits of the wick will fall into the wax & make it dirty. So, invest in a wick trimmer if you're really into candle care. It's way better than your regular scissors!
Fix the tunnel

These ugly tunnels appear in your candle when you don't let it burn all the way to the edge the first time. Good news for you- there's a way to fix this!
How:
1- Trim the wick.
2- Get an aluminium foil & fold it to be 2-3 inches wide.
3- Wrap the foil around the top of your candle to make a volcano-like shape.
4- Make sure the edges of the foil is around & above the opening of the candle. Fold them in to help the flame 'breathe'.
5- Light your candle for a couple hours.
6- Remove the foil after & you'll have no more tunnel!

Don't blow hard
Stop blowing off your candles like it's your 16th birthday! Doing that will push the wick down into the wax. When the wick gets buried in solid wax, it will get damaged when you dig it out!
Also, don't use a lid to cover up the top of the container. You'll only end up with soot.

Do this instead to put out the flame:
- Blow close to the flame, with a gentle breath OR
- Use a wick dipper OR
- Use a candle snuffer.
Use coasters

Even if it comes in a container, the base of the candle releases a lot of heat & might ruin your pretty table top.
Place your candle on a ceramic surface that absorbs heat well. It will be even more ideal if you have coasters at home.
No more candles being harmed anymore after this!
