Although many states are already in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the national recovery plans and people are starting to leave their homes to spend money and revive the economy, there are still many families and businesses who are struggling financially. Just as our vaccines require a second dose, the people's finances also need a boost, seeing how long it has been since the last financial aid payout. This is where the government's latest announcement come in!
Our new prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced yesterday that 3 groups of people including the M40 group will receive money from the "Bantuan Khas Covid-19" (BKC) financial aid. The first phase of payout will commence on the 6th of September (Monday), while the 2nd phase starts in November and the 3rd in December. Here's how much each group will get:
Hardcore Poor Households - RM1300 (Payout in 500 / 500 / 300)
Hardcore Poor Senior Citizens & Singles - RM500 (Payout in 200 / 300)
B40 Households - RM800 (Payout in 500 / 300)
B40 Senior Citizens & Singles - RM200
M40 Households - RM250
M40 Senior Citizens & Singles - RM100
In case you were wondering about the classifications of these groups, there is no need to guess as LHDNM has clearly stated the criteria for the group.
Hardcore Poor & B40 are determined based on their BPR 2021 qualifications:
- Household/Senior Citizen income lesser than RM5000
- Singles income lesser than RM2500
M40 is determined based on income reported on your taxes.
- Household income between RM5001 - RM9000
- Singles income between RM2501 - RM5000
Your financial aid status can be checked on the official BKC portal here starting from the 6th of September. If you have already received any BPR before, there is no action needed from you. So, do you know how much you're getting? Share this with your friends and family so they know too!
