Health minister KJ announced that the appointments would be received via MySejahtera, or through a text for those who don't have the app.
It was initially meant for inidividuals who had only been given the Pfizer vaccine, high-risks including frontliners, the elderly (aged 60+) and those with comorbidities.
However, after receiving the green-light for a mix and match (heterologous vaccinations) and a rise in hospital admissions (Klang Valley), a 3rd dose administration will, in stages, be granted to the general public.
Based on reports by FMT, the extended program would begin today the 22nd October 2021. Besides that, as of the 19th of October, a total of 47,728 individuals have received their booster shot.
