A newborn baby was found dead in a horrible condition, believed to have been stabbed by his own birth mother in Kemaman, Terengganu.
At about 10 AM, the poor baby was found with stab wounds on his chest next to his 15-year-old mother, who was believed to have just given birth.
According to the Kemaman District Police Chief, Superintendent Hanyan Ramlan, the preliminary investigation discovered that the teen, who dropped out of high school a few years ago, was alone at home when she was in labor.
He then enlisted the help of a friend to inform the staff of a nearby health clinic regarding the incident. However, as soon as they arrived at the clinic, the health officer in charge declared that the baby was already dead, with multiple wounds on his chest, likely to have been stabbed with a sharp object.
The 15-year-old teen was then immediately detained to assist further in the investigation, while the baby's corpse was taken to the Forensic Unit of Kemaman Hospital for autopsy.
