Imagine falling in love with a girl when she's deep in a coma. Sounds a bit absurd, but that's exactly what makes The Big Sick stands out from the crowd. A heartwarming romantic comedy with just enough twist to keep you glued to the screen. Not to mention the dark humor laced in between the plots. 10/10 would recommend.

#2 The Spectacular Now
If you're in the mood to get all cozied up in bed and just cry your eyes out watching sad movies, boy do I have a really good one for you. This coming-of-age movie will have you bawling your eyes out by the time it ends. It's a movie about a popular young boy who crosses path with a girl who is the exact opposite of him and somehow, their love blooms and thrives; that is until a plot twist unravels itself and makes everything go haywire.

#3 Drinking Buddies
A romantic comedy where the two lead characters are madly in love with each other, while being in a relationship with other people? Ooof, that's messy. But that's what makes a rom-com watchable; the messier the plotlines, the better. Not to mention the comedy that ensues. A classic rom-com with an incredible cast, Drinking Buddies is a must-watch.

#4 Before Sunset
We all have daydreams where we stumble upon a charming gentleman (or, maiden) in a foreign city and just fall in love. This movie is exactly like that. But with a gut-twisting plot twist, of course. This movie may be old, but still, it reigns supreme.

#5 The Last Five Years
If you're into musicals and the spectacular Anna Kendrick, you'll thoroughly enjoy this movie. It's about the entirety and the complexity of a love relationship and how two individuals with different struggles try to co-exist. Of course, there's more to it than just that. This movie is filled to the brim with content that'd make you understand that love has many facets, and sometimes obstacles are there to strengthen, not weaken it.
