Nation's favourite social media chef/entrepreneur, Khairul Amin Kamarulzaman, a.k.a
Khairul Aming is making headlines again.
But, this time, it's for something not so tasteful- illegal resellers of his exclusive 'Sambal Nyet Berapi'!
If you didn't know, the celebrity cook with over 3 million followers on Instagram, launched his own product in January this year.
Within the first 54 minutes, around 10, 000 bottles were sold out, making a history of its own.
However, reports have been surfacing that there are irresponsible individuals trying to sell faux versions of his chilli paste condiment!
In fact, a number of clueless consumers have fallen for such scam & ended up with gross, inedible dupes instead. Over 700 fake units have been already sold!
Bubbles & a layer of stinky black oil could be seen on top of the paste. It smelt like fish oil & spoiled chillies.
Customers, then, alerted the 29-year-old regarding the fake versions. Even worse, some has asked Khairul himself to refund them.
Following this, he has lodged a police complaint against the said unauthorized reseller by the name "Masturaaliyah".
The woman has since apologized to him & the affected customers in a public apology video posted by Khairul.
She has promised "not to repeat this behaviour again." Her seller account on Shopee has been removed as well.
But, it's still unknown if there are more than one reseller out there! So, Khairul is pleading to the public not to purchase his product from any reseller.
He has even put out a mini guide to pinpoint his authentic version from the fake ones.
So, if you're craving for the legendary, delicious Sambal Nyet Berapi, make sure to only shop from his official Shopee store
