Transition From Pandemic To Endemic | Just 5 Steps As Advised By The Ministry of Health of Malaysia

According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, interstate travel across the country would be possible once the vaccinated adult population in Malaysia reaches 90%. In response to that, the Ministry of Health of Malaysia urged the public to use TRIIS measures during the transition from the pandemic stage to the endemic stage to prevent infection. 

1. Test 

You need to undergo a swab test immediately If you have a cold, fever, cough, and other symptoms.

2. Report 

Report the test report to the authorities via the MySejahtera app as soon as possible, if you are tested postive.

3. Isolation 

Once you are tested positive, you must immediately isolate yourself and strictly abide by the Home Quarantine Order (HSO) rules formulated by the Ministry of Health.

4. Inform

Please notify the close contacts around you immediately. If your condition worsens during home isolation (eg. a sudden blood oxygen drop or breathing difficulties), you must immediately contact the Coronary Disease Assessment Center (CAC) or dial 999.

5. Seek

In the event of you having severe symptoms, such as high body temperature or breathing difficulties, immediately go to the nearest medical centre or CAC for help.



On the other hand, the General Director of Health Malaysia, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah reminded the public that even they still need to wear a mask, wash their hands frequently, and keep social distance even if they have completed their vaccination. 

In addition, he also urges the public to drink more mineral water and reduce the consumption of high-sugar beverages to reduce the comorbidities risk or the severity of COVID-19 infection.

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that many patients have comorbidities when contracting COVID-19, especially those suffering from diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic lung disease, cancer, or chronic kidney disease.
