KLANG - A man who molested a woman staying in a room at the same house as the suspect was arrested around this district, yesterday.
The 38-year-old suspect was apprehended at about 8pm, within 12 hours after committing the crime.
South Klang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong said the incident happened when the victim, a 25-year-old woman, was in a room in the rented house in Taman Gembira here.
He said the suspect, who is also a tenant of a room in the same house, entered the victim's room.
The suspect, who was wearing only a towel and no shirt, then approached her and hugged the victim from the front.
"The victim pushed and pushed the man's hand away and ran out of the room to ask for help before making a police report," he said in a statement today.
He added that the results of the background check found that the suspect had a previous record related to Section 380 of the Penal Code.
Hoong Fong stressed that the suspect has been remanded for three days and the investigation is being conducted in accordance with Section 354 of the Penal Code.
