A salon in Penang recently shared the incident they encountered on their Facebook page about a male customer who allegedly absconded without settling his dues.
According to reports, the individual visited the salon on March 16, 2024, for a hair perming session and assured payment upon returning from the restroom. However, the situation took a distressing turn when the customer purportedly left behind his helmet as collateral, promising to retrieve it later, only to vanish without honouring his commitment.
Expressing dismay over the incident, salon personnel lamented their vulnerability to such occurrences, particularly as the individual had visited their salon once before, and they didn't expect the individual would have run away without paying.
According to the salon personnel, the individual claims that he attended Han Chiang High School previously and is working as a cook at a restaurant behind Gleneagles Hospital.
In a plea to the public, the salon urges anyone acquainted with the individual to counsel him towards fulfilling his financial obligation promptly.
Some netizens replied to the salon's post, suggesting that the salon should punish the boy when he returns by giving him a "botak" (shaved head), while another netizen praised the beautiful perm the salon did for the individual.
As the issue of fare dodging persists, what do you believe are the underlying reasons behind the prevalence of this behaviour among individuals?
