A fisherman was left stunned when he discovered the carcass of an elephant floating in the Pahang River near Lubuk Penor, Kapung Besul.
The incident was reported by local fisherman Azman Yusoff, 54, who was out fishing as part of his usual routine.
Azman recounted that while navigating his boat to set up fishing nets, he initially mistook the large, floating object for driftwood.
Upon closer inspection, he was shocked to realize it was the lifeless body of an elephant, measuring approximately four to five arm spans in length.
He speculated that the elephant might have slipped into the river and drowned after being swept away by the strong current.
