Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) services experienced delays on January 28 after five men illegally entered the railway tracks between Teluk Pulai and Klang. The incident resulted in a tragic collision, causing disruptions for hundreds of passengers.
According to KTMB, a train traveling along the route struck the group of trespassers, killing one man on the spot while four others sustained minor injuries. Emergency services were called to the scene, and the injured individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The collision also caused damage to the train, resulting in delays of over an hour. Relief locomotives were deployed to tow the damaged train and clear the tracks, allowing services to resume as soon as possible.
Approximately 200 passengers on board were assisted by KTMB staff and auxiliary police officers. They were safely guided to Klang Station, where KTMB arranged for free shuttle buses to Subang Jaya Station, ensuring minimal disruption to their travel plans.
KTMB's Chief Operating Officer, Mohd Zain Mat Taha, reiterated the dangers of trespassing on railway tracks. Under Section 126 of the Land Public Transport Act 2010, individuals caught illegally entering railway property can face a fine of RM500.
KTMB encourages passengers to stay informed about service updates through its official social media channels or by contacting the KTMB Call Center at 03-9779 1200. Passengers in need of assistance can also seek help from station staff on duty.
