At this point in time, authorities are working with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) to trace the sender of the email containing a bomb threat directed at Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) yesterday.
The Kuala Lumpur police chief stated that the threat would be investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code to identify the culprits.
He further mentioned that the police have not yet determined the identity of the individual who sent the email.
For those unaware, BNM employees received the threatening email at approximately 3 p.m.
Following a thorough two-hour inspection by the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), it was confirmed that the threat was false, and the nation's financial centre was deemed secure.
