Do you recall when the women-only coach was first introduced, providing a much-needed sense of security for women in their own designated space, free from the worries and harassment often experienced by mixed-gender coaches?
However, it has unfortunately become commonplace for many men to disregard this arrangement, boarding the women-only coach without consideration. They often refuse even when asked to vacate the space, believing they've done nothing wrong. This defeats the purpose of having a women-only coach in the first place.

As a result, RapidKL has faced criticism for not only failing to enforce stricter security measures but also for neglecting the ongoing issues with train frequency that have frustrated male passengers. The spotlight on this issue intensified with the announcement of a new women's coach to be implemented on the MRT Putrajaya line by March 30, 2024.
This development prompted many netizens to voice their opinions. Some argued that the existing women-only coach was unnecessary, noting that women still prefer boarding regular coaches at either end of the MRT.
Others called out women for not filling up the women 's-only coach before resorting to regular ones, while some advocated introducing a men-only coach for fairness.
Alternatively, suggestions were made for each MRT station to assign a female auxiliary police officer to ensure that the women's-only coaches are fully utilised, thereby preventing passengers from occupying excessive space in other coaches.
As this remains a trial period, adjustments may be made based on feedback.
