Netflix has launched a new program Netflix Party and it's launched at the right time when worldwide are practicing self-quarantine and work from home due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Netflix Party helps continue to connect you with friends and loved ones by letting you and your friends stream shows and movies at the same time. Everyone in the Party can watch the movie/ show precisely in sync, no more forcing everyone to sync the time frame to press play and pause at the same time. It also allows anyone in the Party to pause, play, fast forward and rewind the movies, so everyone will be in sync.
There's also a side chat bar where you and your friends can do live chat, you can also customize your Netflix party by choosing a fun user icon and nickname.
How does it work?
1. Install Netflix Party
Click here and select the "Install Netflix Party" on the page button to install. Click "Add to Chrome" after you installed the Netflix Party. *Netflix Party ONLY available on Chrome browsers on desktop or laptop computers.*
2. Open a Video in Netflix
Go to Netflix's website. Choose and start playing any video.
3. Create your party
Click on the red "NP" icon located next to the address bar to create your party. Then click "Start Party" to get the party started, and share the party URL to invite friends.
4. Join a Netflix Party
To join a party host by your friend, just click on the shared party URL, which will redirect to Netflix's website. Then click on the "NP" button next to the address bar, and you should automatically join the party.
