Today, 26th September 2022, a rare astronomical event will take place and this is why you shouldn't miss it!
Since the year 1963, Jupiter will be the closest to Earth than it ever has been, and because it would be so bright, you would be able to see its bands and moons with just a binoculars!
It will be lined up in opposition, which means that a planet on the opposite side of Earth from the Sun, so you could draw a straight line from the sun to Earth to Jupiter, all in alignment.
Jupiter's opposition happens every 13 months, but since its orbit is every 12 years, it takes MUCH longer for it to reach its closest position to Earth. The next this happens could be in 2129.
So, get your binoculars ready and check it out tonight!
