Since India imposed a nationwide lockdown on March 25, a large number of daily wage earners have lost their source of income. Following this, many of them had to return home on foot as they had no job and no food.
A 12-year-old girl, Jamalo Madkam, was one of those unfortunate people who had lost her job and had to walk home amid the lockdown. Sadly, after a 3-days journey on foot, which covers 150km, young Madkam ended in death, barely 15 km from home, according to China Press.

World Asia reported that Madkam was the only child in the family. Her parents, Andoram (32) and Sukamati Madkam (30), also barely survive on the forest produce they collect. The little child was pushed to work due to extreme poverty of her family.
