As Miss Universe 2021 premiered live earlier today, Miss Mexico Andrea Meza ascended the throne and claimed her rightful place.
The 26 year old beat 73 other contestants, including first runner up, Miss Brazil and second runner up Miss Peru. Holding a degree in software engineering, the beaut was crowned by her successor Miss Universe 2019, in Hollywood, Florida.
Capturing the hearts of the judges, for her final question on changing beauty standards, Andrea's answer was:
"We live in a society that more and more is more than advanced, and as we advance as a society, we've also advanced with stereotypes. Nowadays beauty isn't only the way we look. For me, beauty radiates not only in our spirit, but in our hearts and the way that we conduct ourselves. Never permit someone to tell you that you're not valuable."
A wise answer indeed, here's wishing congratulations to her as well as all the beautiful AND smart ladies who competed!
