Malaysia is once again experiencing unpredictable weather, with many states currently facing heavy rain and thunderstorms.
According to a report from the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), 12 states are expected to encounter thunderstorms and heavy rain this evening (September 11th). Among the states expected to experience this weather are Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Perak, Kelantan, Sabah, Sarawak, and many more.
Last Friday, a shocking incident occurred near Taman Song Choon, Ipoh, where a large tree fell onto the roof of a car where a 47-year-old mother and her teen son were nearly killed. Through a TikTok post, members of the public near the scene are seen assisting a woman and her teenage son as they exit a severely damaged car, presumably struck by the falling tree.
The incident of the tree falling is believed to have occurred due to heavy rain and thunderstorms, which caused significant damage to the vehicle's roof. As a result, the fire department had to cut down the tree to rescue the victims.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department's Operations Officer, Mohd Rozairi Abdul Rahim, explained that both victims suffered minor injuries and were immediately transported to the nearest private hospital by the public.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the Ipoh City Council had been informed of the incident to assist in clearing the fallen tree that was blocking the road. For additional information, the driver of the vehicle behind the white car can be heard expressing relief as they narrowly avoided being hit by the falling tree.
