An 18-year-old Chinese student, identified as Patrick Qiu Xiangming, was tragically found dead in the parking area of an international school in Mont Kiara. Reports indicate that Qiu, originally from Jiangsu, had been playing badminton with a friend shortly before his untimely death.
According to local sources, the teenager attended the international school with a friend, whose father spoke anonymously to the media. The father recounted that the boys had spent time exercising together earlier that day. After their game, Qiu mentioned his intention to spend some time alone, opting to go for a drink by himself despite his friend's suggestion to return home early.
"After they played badminton, the victim said he wanted to spend some time alone. My son advised him to go home early, but the victim insisted that he wouldn't stay out too late," said the friend's father, adding that Qiu was determined to enjoy a quiet moment alone.
According to Majoriti, Qiu was last seen around 2 am on Saturday near Solaris Mont Kiara. His disappearance was reported shortly after he failed to return, sparking concerns among those who knew him. On Saturday morning at approximately 9 am, Qiu body was discovered in the school parking area along Jalan Duta Kiara, marking a heartbreaking end to the search.
Family members, including Qiu's mother and sister, flew from China immediately upon hearing the tragic news. They arrived on Saturday and were taken to the hospital morgue on Monday to formally identify his body.
Local authorities are conducting investigations into the cause of death. As of now, no further details have been disclosed regarding any specific circumstances surrounding his passing. The international school community in Kuala Lumpur has expressed sorrow and condolences, coming together to support those affected by the loss.
