Petaling Jaya Police Investigate Alleged Sodomy Of Autistic Man By Neighbor

On November 6, 2024, the Petaling Jaya District Police received a disturbing report of an alleged assault against a 19-year-old autistic man in Taman Putra Damai, Petaling Jaya. The incident, reported in the early morning hours at approximately 4:44 AM, has sparked a police investigation with swift action taken against the alleged suspect.


According to an official statement shared via the Petaling Jaya District Police's Facebook page, the suspect in question is reportedly a neighbor of the victim. Petaling Jaya District Police Chief ACP Shahrulnizam Bin Jaafar stated that initial investigations suggest the involvement of the neighbor, who was promptly detained on the same day the report was filed.

The arrest took place at around 5:40 AM on November 6, shortly after the report was lodged, allowing investigators to act quickly in taking the suspect into custody. The suspect is currently being held for further questioning as authorities work to gather more details surrounding the case.


Following the arrest, an application for remand under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code was granted by the Petaling Jaya Magistrates Court. The remand period for the suspect, which began on November 6, will continue until November 12, providing law enforcement additional time to proceed with their inquiries.


The case is being investigated under Section 377C of the Penal Code, which addresses offenses of a sexual nature committed without consent.
