In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 65-year-old grandmother, Kamala Mahato, tragically passed away after discovering her grandson had taken his own life. The devastating incident occurred on January 26 (Sunday) in Parulia village, India, as reported by Sinar Harian.
According to authorities, the tragedy unfolded following an argument between the grandson, 25-year-old Shubhankar Mahato, and his girlfriend. Shubhankar, a contractor by profession, reportedly returned home distraught and locked himself in his room after making a call to his girlfriend.
Despite Kamala's repeated attempts to reach out to him, there was no response. Worried about her grandsons silence, she eventually sought help to break down the door, only to find Shubhankar lifeless inside. Overwhelmed by shock and grief, Kamala collapsed at the scene and passed away moments later.
Police have confirmed that Shubhankar took his own life following the argument. The grief-stricken grandmother's sudden passing has further compounded the family's sorrow. Both bodies were sent for autopsies, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing. The bodies were returned to the family for final rites on January 27 (Monday).
