Starbucks M’sia Unveils The Bearista Project Featuring Local Artists, Proceeds To Go To The Palestine Relief Fund

Starbucks has been on the chopping block regarding the Gaza violence for a long time now, but they're looking to turn things around...

Based on reports, Starbucks Malaysia has unveiled their plans for a new campaign, which proceeds will go straight to Palestine. 

The new campaign launched is called "Starbucks Brewing Art for Good: The Bearista Project" is a collaboration with local artists in Malaysia including those who are hearing impaired, as well as individuals on the autism spectrum.

Each reflecting the vibrant scene of Malaysias diverse states and the brands growth across the country, with more to join the lineup by December 2024. Hand-painted by the local talents, these life-sized Bearista will be showcased at selected Starbucks stores throughout Malaysia. Creative art students will also be apart of the mix. 

The campaign comes together with Starbucks 25 anniversary in Malaysia, and will grace outlets with 25 unique bearista designs, each representing the different cultures of Malaysian states and brand growth across the country. 

On top of that, the brand will also introduce a limited-edition mini-Bearista series under blind-box collectibles in all Starbucks stores, for only RM25.

The project kicked off on June 22 at Pavilion Damansara Heights, the official venue sponsor, where 12 designs were revealed. More designs are to come in December 2024. 

A portion of the proceeds from the mini-Bearista sales will be given back to the artists and donated to a Gaza humanitarian fund supported by MERCY Malaysia. 

"We are deeply saddened by the ongoing atrocities in Gaza and hope this contribution aids innocent lives there", said Dato Sydney.
